The Kankakee County State’s Attorney's Office is encouraging high school seniors, college undergrads and law students to apply for internships, according to the office's website.
The office accepts applications for internships throughout the year, providing successful applicants a unique opportunity to perform important duties for a prosecutor’s office. Successful candidates are assigned to specific departments, courtrooms, attorneys or specialized bureaus, though the release notes that high school students are not assigned to the juvenile justice bureau.
Interns are expected to undertake a range of duties, including assisting in investigations, attending trials and supporting attorneys by preparing documents and financial data, conducting legal research and drafting legal memos. Interns also might be called upon to support community outreach programs and generally support office projects.
