Robin Kelly, a U.S. Congress member representing Illinois' 2nd district since 2013, recently took to social media to express her views on legislative proceedings. Her tweets highlighted concerns about a bill being debated in the House of Representatives.

On July 3, 2025, Kelly tweeted that "Republicans started debate on the Big, Ugly Bill at 3:25 AM, when most people are asleep." She noted that Representative Jeffries had been speaking for over four hours to raise awareness about the bill's implications on healthcare and food assistance.

Later that day, Kelly provided an update stating that ".@RepJeffries has been speaking on the House floor for almost 8 hours." She emphasized their efforts to represent American citizens by sharing their stories and highlighting the reasons behind labeling the bill as "ugly."

In another tweet from July 3, Kelly expressed support for Rep. Jeffries with a note of encouragement: "Take your sweet time! Proud to support our Leader, @RepJeffries." She reiterated his commitment to protecting healthcare and food assistance.

Robin Kelly has served in Congress since replacing Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2013. Before her congressional role, she was part of the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Born in New York City in 1956, she resides in Matteson and is an alumna of Bradley University.
