On July 2, 2025, Robin Kelly tweeted about the actions of House Republicans, stating that they are "rushing to push through a bill that steals healthcare and food from people." She characterized this action as "cruel," "ugly," and "evil," emphasizing that "@HouseDemocrats are unified in voting HELL. NO."
Later that day, she noted efforts by members of the Black Caucus to safeguard against proposed cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. Kelly tweeted, "Members of the @TheBlackCaucus all offered an amendment to protect against any cuts to Medicaid and SNAP." She emphasized their collective effort in opposing what she referred to as the "Big, Ugly Bill."
In another tweet posted on July 2, 2025, Kelly highlighted public sentiment against tax breaks for billionaires. She stated, "Americans are telling Congress to NOT give a $4.5 billion tax break to billionaires." Robin Kelly has been an active member of Congress since replacing Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2013. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Born in New York City in 1956 and now residing in Matteson, Kelly graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1977.
