Edward Chipman Public Library Board met September 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

I. Call to order for Appropriation: Judd called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Roll call was taken with board members: Judd, Koch, Johnson, Lund, and Lovel in attendance; as Well as Adkins (director) and Denton (Lawyer).

A. Discussion: No community discussion; Minor changes were reviewed and discussed.

B. Vote: Koch motioned to accept: Judd Seconded; Roll Call Was taken and all Were in favor. The Appropriation was approved.

C. Adjourn: Judd motioned we adjourned and Schroeder seconded. The meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m.

I. Call to order: Judd called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. Roll Call Was taken With board members: Judd, Koch, Lund, Lowell, Schroeder and Johnson in attendance; as well as Adkins (director).

II. Secretary's Report: The Secretary's report was reviewed. A motion was made by Lund and seconded by Koch to accept the report.

Ill. Treasurer's Report: The financial report for August was reviewed. The Second tax payment was received. A motion was made to accept the financial report by Lovell. The motion was seconded by Schroeder.

IV. Librarian's Report

1. Illinet interlibrary Loan Reciprocal Borrowing Statistical Survey was completed.

2. Criminal Background Checks will be conducted for new employees.

3. Lego Night: Monday night will be the first Lego night. Patrons will vote on which Lego creation they think should win.

Each team must have 1 kid and 1 adult. The theme will be given at the beginning of each Session.

5. Halloween Event- Bordertown Hauntings: The kids will be making glowing ghosts.

6. There was discussion about using Je’neir Elementary Gym for events for summer reading. There is the possibility of linking the Summer School program kids with Summer reading.

7. Solar Eclipse Event was a huge success. 67 people showed up for the special glasses.

8. 4th grade tour will be occurring in the 2nd week of October.

V. Old Business

1. Maintenance- The outside of the building needs power washed. Adkins is in the process of checking into this.

2. There was no ADA update.

3. Trustee Education Update - The Trustee Fact Files may be revised. More information to Come.

4. Insurance Update - Mr. Zugg Will be at the October meeting. Protection plan was added for those driving for library purposes.

5. Signs - Schroeder updated on the search to find out how to locate signs for the library.

V. NeW Busines

1. The tax levy will be worked on now that the appropriation has been approved.

VII. Adjourn. Lovell motioned that the board meeting be adjourned. Johnson seconded the motion. The board meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
