Momence City Council met Dec. 4.

Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope. Also present was Mayor Steele. Alderman Cook was absent.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Metz made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 20, 2017 council meeting. Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting. Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the bills for payment with the addition of bills from Tina Demack. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

OLD BUSINESS

Alderman Metz – cutoff for the Christmas party will be tomorrow, 12-05-17. She will need a definite number in order to place the reservation with Sammy’s.

ALDERMANIC REPORTS

1. Jake Salomone – Tax Levy 2017/2018 was calculated incorrectly. 2. Jake Salomone – A Resolution #198 Modifying the Estimated Amount of the City’s Next Anticipated Tax Levy $323,003.47 Alderman Salomone made motion to approve, Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes. 3. Jake Salomone will need to add people to the signature cards adding Charles Steele, Christy Ritter, Jenene Henson, Tina Demack, Lori Schultz. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve, Alderman Navratil seconded the motion. Alderman Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes. 4. Jake Salomone budget and finance meeting for December 18 at 7:15PM 5. Cope will not be able to attend the next meeting due to travel 6. Alderman Navratil will be resigning at the end of the month due to health reasons.

Department heads IMRF contribution rate is raising to 8.07 effective January 1

Treasurer report – meeting with Municipal about account.

Alderman Metz made motion to adjourn, Alderman Navratil seconded the motion. Alderman Salomone, Navratil, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.
