Edward Chipman Public Library District Board met May 17.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
I.Call to order: In the absence of the president, Schurman was appointed the leader of the meeting. Schurman called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. Roll call was taken with board members: Koch, Lund, Lovell, Schroeder, and Schurman, as well as director Adkins in attendance.
II. Secretary's Report: The Secretary's report was reviewed. A motion was made by Lund and seconded by Schroeder to accept the report.
III. Treasurer's Report: The financial report for April was reviewed. A motion was made to accept the financial report by Koch. Motion seconded by Schurman.
IV. Librarian's Reports
1. All Momence District staff and students are now set up for e-books.
2. In 2019, RAILS will require Directors to have 6 hours of training per year.
3. Momence Meadows opened an account with the library. This will allow indi-vidual patrons to check out books.
4. Heritage Day will be June 9th and is coming along well.
5. Summer reading will begin June 15.
V. Old Business
1. Maintenance Update: The new sign will be up and dedicated at Heritage days; The power washing of building is scheduled. When the power wash-ing is done the bunting for Heritage Days will also be hung.
2.Vote on ADA/Chromebook policy: This vote will be postponed until next month.
3.The DVD policy will change to a check out of 3 days. Lovell motioned this change be made and Schurman seconded it. A vote was taken and all board members present were in favor of this change.
VI. New Business
1.Koch motioned that the non-residential library fee remain $50 for this year. Schurman seconded this motion. A vote was taken. All present board mem-bers present were in favor of this change.
2.Schroeder will complete the yearly OMA/FOIA training for this year.
VII. Adjourn.
Lovell motioned that the regularly session board meeting be ad-journed. Lund seconded the motion. Regular board meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
