Grant Park Police Department issued the following announcement on Sept. 6.
ANOTHER SCAM ALERT!!!!
People may call you saying they are from the Social Securty Administration, they are not. I called the number left and a man claimnig to be Officer Grey from Social Security hung up on me when I told him I was the police and asked for the supervisor. SCAM!!!!
Never give out personal information to people over the phone who you do not know, these are always scams!!
Other scams ask for I tunes gift cards, ALWAYS A SCAM!!
