Bourbonnais Public Library District issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
Sheri and Jeff have made it to practically all of our Tabletop nights and they will be helping us host our upcoming event.
Jeff is from Orlando, and Sheri is from Kankakee. They now live in Bourbonnais with their 6 dogs and cat. Sheri and Jeff came to the library’s first ever board game night, and since then, they participate in gaming events all over town! Jeff started playing board games like BloodBowl and SpaceHulk in high school with friends and has enjoyed games ever since. Sheri always played board games such as Monopoly and others as a kid but was introduced to the non-traditional board games by Jeff in the past year. They enjoy going to game nights at local libraries and traveling to Flossmoor once a month to a place called Meeple Keep where there are 60 people to game with. They also have a friends group names SAGE (Super All-day Gaming Extravaganza) in Flanagin, IL that meets once a month. Game nights at home are also enjoyed by the couple in their spare time. When asked what playing board games has taught her, Sheri replied, “It has definitely helped us sharpen our critical thinking skills. It seems with most games, you're strategizing your next move according to your opponent’s next move.
We have also met so many new people and developed new friendships.”
Come meet Sheri, Jeff, and the rest of the Tabletop crew Wednesday, September 26th at 6pm!
