City of Momence City Council met September 4.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.
Roll Call
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope. All present.
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
Alderman Cook made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 20, 2018 council meeting. Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Metz, Carbonaro, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Approval of the Bills
The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting. Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the bills for payment with the addition of 1 bill in the amount of 14582.00 to be split between 10-46-76.01, 20-46-76.01 and 30-46-76.01. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Metz, Carbonaro, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Citzen Forum
Tanny Hernandez – July 7 lost a very good friend from the bar; the Bike Run is being used as a fundraiser. 100 people have pre-registered, they are expecting more to come. Requesting to close the first block of Washington, in front of City Hall. Angela had requested this earlier but council had denied the second closure. Cosmo Girls is the only business that is open that day, they have given their OK on the event. Council had previously approved the closure of the block from 8am – 12pm that day. They are requesting closure for the evening also, 8am – midnight. Alderman Cook made motion to approve, Alderman Carbonaro seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Betty Dione – request for fundraiser yard sale on Conrad Park Saturday, September 15, from 8am – 4pm. Requested by Conrad Park Board and Friends of the Park proceeds to benefit care of Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Aldermanic Reports
Alderman Clark – public works had a meeting to discuss the chipper, Council has decided to hold off on the purchase
Alderman Salomone – BF 7:15 pm September 17
Treasurer report – statements of both banks are attached to the report. Auditors are still here, and working on June and July
Mayoral Report
Mayor Steele requested to go into executive session to discuss personal, not to come out to do business.
Alderman Cook made motion to go into executive session, Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
