Village of Manteno Public Safety Committee met Nov. 9.

Trustee Dole called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m.
A motion was made by Mayor Nugent, seconded by Trustee Dole, to approve the minutes of the September 12, 2018 meeting as written; motion carried by voice vote. All ayes, no nays.

Items for Discussion:
• Personnel Updates – Ptlm. Casey is starting physical therapy for at least 4 weeks. A layover shift has been added to accommodate his absence.
The new lateral entry officer, Scott Halper, is doing well. He is working on his own, he needed very little training.
The written test for the new hire list was given on Saturday, November 3, 2018. There were 54 applicants who tested for Manteno. There were two other departments that participated in this joint testing. Applicants applied to each department separately. Orientation will be December 1, 2018 with oral interviews after that date. The Commission plans to have a hire list available in January 2019.
The new hire list will be good for two years. The lateral hire list is also good for two years.
A motion by Trustee Dole and seconded by Mayor Nugent, to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 a.m. Voice vote – all ayes.
