Momence City Council met Feb. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope. Alderman Cook was absent.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Rehmer made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 4, 2019 council meeting with a correction to the Planning and Zoning presentation, and to the bills approval to show Alderman Cook was absent. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.

Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

CITZEN FORUM –

1. Tony Lampley – Street closings in June 29th, July 27th, and August 31st Off the Vine would like to do 3 events, noon to 11:59 P.M., East half of Washington alley to Locust Street. Alderman Metz made motion to approve, Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

2. Lori Schultz/Jen Hooten – wrongful termination/Hero John Carbonaro requesting executive

OLD BUSINESS –

ALDERMANIC REPORTS –

1. Jake Salomone – Presentation of 2017-2018 Audit, auditor gave briefing of the audit.

2. Jake Salomone – Budget and Finance meeting March 4, 2019 7:15 PM

3. Jake Salomone – Ordinance/Resolution posting noting posted for resolutions/ordinances posted to the websites. All new ordinances will be sent to webmaster to be posted based on how previously was done.

4. John Rehmer – thank you to Streets and Alley working on cold patching.

Treasurer report –

Department Heads – Chief Brucato – Officer Vela helped EMS crew on a full arrest on the east side of town. They gave a certificate showing appreciation.

MAYORAL REPORT

Mayor requested executive session to not come out to do business. Alderman Rehmer made motion to go into executive session, Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Adjourned 7:48 P.M.

Re-entered from executive 8:10 PM

Alderman Salomone made motion to adjourn, Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.
