Momence City Council met April 15.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Temple and Cope. Alderman Rehmer was absent.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 1, 2019 council meeting. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Temple and Cope voting yes. Alderman Cook passed.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.

Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Cope seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Temple and Cope voting yes. Alderman

Cook abstained.

CITZEN FORUM –

George Vorhees – Electrical Aggregation – new rate plan, possible savings to the city. Vote to take place at next meeting, Mayor asked for a contract to be prepared from George at that meeting.

OLD BUSINESS –

ALDERMANIC REPORTS –

1. David Cook – Discuss and Vote on Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals recommendation for 221 Park St. Alderman Cook made motion to approve the variance, Alderman Metz seconded

the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

2. Alderman Metz – Water and Sewer met tonight to discuss water rates with RCAP, more testing to come

3. Alderman Salomone – BF meeting May 6, 7:15 PM, this is the last meeting of the fiscal year

Treasurer report –

1. Discuss and Vote on adding Pepper Ohrt to all bank accounts – Alderman Cook made motion to approve, Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Department Heads – Tina Demack – Pepper Ohrt finished her first week, things are going great

Mayor requested to move into executive session to come out and do business. Mayor requested Chief Brucato to attend executive session. Alderman Salomone made motion to move into executive session, Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Alderman Carbonaro made motion to approve the hiring of Officer Zimmerman to full-time, Alderman Clark seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
