City of Momence City Council met June 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer,

Cook and Temple. Alderman Cope was absent.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Rehmer made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 20, 2019 council meeting with the correction of spelling error. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.

Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, and Temple voting yes.

Alderman Cook passed.

CITZEN FORUM – Glad Fest letter received with requests for street closures, foot bridge, golf carts.

Resolution to be discussed later in the meeting. Alderman Metz made motion to approve the Gladiolus Festival requests, Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone,

Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple.

OLD BUSINESS –

ALDERMANIC REPORTS –

1. John Rehmer – Discuss and Vote on Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals meeting – Alderman Rehmer made motion to approve, Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

2. Jake Salomone – Discuss Appropriation Fiscal Year 2020 – Appropriation will be going to the Progress Reporter on June 12 for publication – hearing July 1, vote July 15. Appropriation total dollars $7,575,300.00

3. BF June 17 7:15 PM

Treasurer report – rev/expense reports are out; budget numbers are not correct and bank reports will be out this week

Department Heads –

MAYORAL REPORT

1. Amendment to Enterprise Zone Intergovernmental Agreement- to include New Territory.

2. Resolution #207 Authorizing the Execution of an Amended Intergovernmental Agreement to Add New Territory to the Kankakee County Enterprise Zone - Alderman Metz made motion to approve, Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

3. Ordinance # 846 Amending “An Ordinance for the Establishment of the City of Momence Enterprise Zone and the Boundaries Thereof in the City of Momence” as Amended – Alderman Metz made motion to approve, Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

4. Resolution 206 Street Closures for Momence Gladiolus Festival Association – Alderman Cook made a motion to approve, Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

Mayor requested executive session to possibly come out to do business. Alderman Cook made motion to move into executive session, Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.

Adjourned to executive session 7:53 P.M.

Returned from executive session 8:01 P.M.

Alderman Clark made motion to approve a 1.5% increase for Chief Brucato salary. Alderman Carbonaro seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes. Alderman Cook made motion to adjourn,

Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook and Temple voting yes.
