Village of Manteno Parks and Recreation Commission met July 17.
Here is the minutes provided by the commission:
Call to Order: 7:00 Pm Lori Keigher
Roll Call: Sam Martin, Diane Dole, Bill Johnson, Jim Hanley, Renee Cushman, Lori Keigher, and Ray Chamberlain were present.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved by the members present.
Parks Update:
Eddie Reed Park: Sand added to the vb court.
Hendrickson Park: Graffiti removal.
Legacy Park: Suffered accident damage, it has been repaired.
Main St. Plaza: Landscaping work.
Rock Creek Park and Path: Trees planted
Square on Second: Sod and landscape work started, addind more speed humps. Gathering prices on artificial sod around the jumping pad.
Ruder Park: Playground mulch added.
Memorial Park: Wood structures to be painted soon.
There were no updates offered on the following parks.
Belcher Park, Eagles Landing Park, Farmers Market/Merchants Park, Heritage Park, Phipps Garden, Jacobs Park, Thies Park, Wright Park
Parks Planning: A lively discussion followed on these subjects, A Coffee Shop in the village, Super size jump pad at Legacy Park, a village campground, a bathroom at Legacy Park, Pickle Ball and Bocce Ball courts were all discussed.
Old Business: No old business was discussed.
