City of Momence City Council met Dec. 2.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Metz made motion to approve the minutes of the November 18, 2019 council meeting. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes. Alderman Carbonaro passed.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.

Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

CITZEN FORUM – Christy Ritter asked for use of the council chambers for a few vendors during the

Christmas Gathering. Alderman Cook made motion to approve, Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes. Larry Crouch will be at the next meeting for the 2030 discussion

OLD BUSINESS –

ALDERMANIC REPORTS - Jake Salomone – Discuss and Vote on Tax Levy Ordinance number 849. Actual 386996.48. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve, Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldemen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Alderman Metz – Public works meeting tonight, discussed raising water/sewer rate, touched based on Baxter Woodman meeting, will know more come December 16

Treasurer report –

Department Heads – Scott – road closure and times? Alderman Metz contacting Nadine Blanchette to check times Fargo will be in on the 9th, not sure on times of closures as of yet. Mayor spoke to Oscar, he is looking to get a map to City Hall asap. Mayor asking for approval to close East River Street and East Washington. Alderman Cook made motion, Aldermabn Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Mark looking for an employee. Mayor indicating if they do find someone, looking for approval to hire. Alderman Cook made motion to approve to give authority to Mark to hire, Alderman Cope seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

Alderman Metz requested information on parking – house on Maple and Fourth, issue with parking in the yellow zone.
