City of Momence City Council met Jan. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Cook made motion to approve the minutes of the December 16, 2019 council meeting. Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.

Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Cope seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

CITZEN FORUM –

OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Metz stated had not heard anything back on rates, Mayor indicated that Baxter had taken back the rates to look hope to have prior to the next meeting.

ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Salomone BF January 20 7:15pm, auditors reached out to schedule a meeting to go over the audit report.

Treasurer report – current through November, just received the December statements.

Department Heads –

MAYORAL REPORT - requesting executive session to come out to do business regarding employment and compensation of employees of the public body, Alderman Metz made motion to go into executive session, Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook,

Temple and Cope voting yes.

Adjourned to executive session 7:35 P.M.

Returned to public meeting 7:48 P.M.

Alderman Cook made motion to approve raises for department heads at 2% each. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes. Alderman Metz made motion to adjourn, Alderman Carbonaro seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
