City of Momence City Council met Feb. 3.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope. Alderman Cook was absent.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Metz made motion to approve the minutes of the January 20, 2020 council meeting. Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, and Temple voting yes.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
The bills were discussed at tonight's Budget and Finance Committee Meeting.
Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.
CITZEN FORUM – Larry Crouch – Vision 2030 discussed overall results of survey. A vote will be added to the next meeting agenda.
OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Salomone auditor will not be attending tonight, will be present for next meeting
ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Cope – Alleyway project – applying for grants if approved tonight. Kankakee County Grant Foundation. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve to look for grant funding, Alderman Cope seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes. Alderman Carbonaro voted no.
Alderman Salomone – BF meeting February 17, 7:15 PM
Alderman Metz questioned Scott on a tree on a house on North River Road. Scott is stating that is not city property. Scott indicated that they could trim the tree enough to get off the road, cannot cut the entire tree as it does not belong to the city.
Alderman Rehmer would like to call a police committee on either Monday, February 10 at 5pm or Monday, February 17 at 6pm will be a closed session. Also wants to put forth a motion for 2 new police pick up trucks, 19000.00 on one, 18000.00 on the other. A trade would help to bring the prices to the amount. They are a 4 door trucks, 5ft beds. Alderman Rehmer made motion to approve, Alderman Salomone seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes. Brought up a concern on the condition on sidewalks, new and missing sidewalks, looking for an ordinance to be drafted. Alderman Cope indicated that this is already law, but she is going to contact the attorney to look into further.
