City of Watseka City Council met April 28.

The City Council meeting was called to order by Mayor John Allhands at 7:00pm. Present were Aldermen Garfield, Barragree, Cahoe, Miller, Rushbrook, & Alderwoman Ulfers with Alderman Marcier via phone. Absent Alderman Mayotte.
Motion was made by Ulfers, seconded by Barragree to approve the City Council meeting minutes of March 24th 2020. Motion passed 7-0.

A Motion was made by Rushbrook, seconded by Garfield to pay claims in the amount $854,301.43. Motion passed 7-0.
A Motion was made by Ulfers, seconded by Garfield to Accept and Place on file the March Treasurer Report. Motion passed 7-0.
A Motion was made by Rushbrook, seconded by Marcier $2500.00 donation for Fireworks to Knights of Columbus. Motion passed 7-0.
A Motion was made by Garfield, seconded by Cahoe Accept the balanced budget for fiscal year 2020- 2021. Motion passed 7-0.
• Public Works
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Garfield Purchase from McCullough Implement a Kubota BX2680 for $14,616.22 pay for from the Park fund. Motion passed 7-0.
A Motion was made by Barragree, seconded by Cahoe Purchase 3 Generators from Outsen Electric for $403,364.00 to be paid from TIF 3-$100,841.00 and the balance of $302,523.00 from water and sewer fund. Motion passed 7-0.
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Rushbrook Hire Precision Lawn Mowing to mow residential lots Alderman Garfield commented this is a lot of money that could be used elsewhere. Motion passed 6-1 with Alderman Garfield voting no.
A Motion was made by Cahoe, seconded by Marcier to Allow Greg Marks and Dustin Standish to take 1 vehicle home every night, Motion was 4-3 with the Mayor voting yes the council will review this in 6 months with Alderman Miller, Rushbrook, and Ulfers voting no.

• Miscellaneous Business
-Rolfe Jaremus-Tax abatement/Revolving Loan request- No action taken tabled.
-Crime Free Rental Ordinance discussion-discussion was had, no action taken this will be put on the next Code Enforcement meeting agenda.
- A Motion was made by Garfield, seconded by Rushbrook Family Festival Expenditures not to exceed $550.00 Motion passed 7-0. The festival needs 2 way radios and a few things for the gate.

Mayor asked the Council about electronic attendance some discussion was had.
Alderman Marcier thanked Alderman Barragree Great job on the new budget.
Alderman Cahoe shared a list of items that have been removed by ERH, some discussion was had, Alderman Garfield shared that a few Aux. officers will be on stand- by at the facility if needed. Alderwoman Ulfers shared anything that the city purchases from here on out we need a list.
A motion was made by Garfield, seconded by Ulfers to Adjourn at 7:41pm. Motion passed 7-0.
