City of Momence City Council met April 20.

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held in the Council Chambers at 29 N. Dixie Highway, Momence. Mayor Chuck Steele called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the minutes of the March 16, 2020 council meeting. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
The bills were discussed during open session. Alderman Rehmer questioned the annual payment of the truck. Tina indicated that the truck was purchased October/2019 (roughly 6 months ago). Mayor called Scott for clarification. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
CITZEN FORUM –
OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Salomone - Census 59% self-returned, looking for better return Alderman Cope – When will new signs be installed. Alderman Cook said waiting on Scott to finish the posts.
ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Salomone – ending fiscal year, budget coming soon Budget/Finance 7:15 PM May 4 if meeting in person. If Zoom, bills will be reviewed During open session
Alderman Rehmer – Republic will pick up yard waste if in the correct containers
Alderman Metz – Economic Alliance due soon

Alderman Rehmer made motion to approve, Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Per the State of Illinois, local bars will have an extended time limit of 3 months to pay for the license due to pandemic closures. Berkots, Casey’s and Circle K will pay normal due dates.
Economic Interest is due soon, be sure to complete.
Doug Duncan has submitted his resignation.
