Illinois State House District 79 issued the following announcement on July 24
State Representative Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) is hosting an upcoming paper-shredding event on August 8th. The event is held in partnership with Sandi Cianci, Kankakee County Circuit Clerk, and Jackie Haas, Kankakee County District 27 Board Member, at the Bourbonnais Upper Grade Center, 200 W John Casey Rd, from 10:00am-12:00pm. It is free and open to the public.
The event is a great opportunity for local residents to destroy sensitive documents to help prevent identity theft and fraud. Shredding documents to ensure personal information and data is destroyed is an easy step to help protect yourself and your personal information.
Limit is 2 bags of paper to be discarded per person.
Representative Parkhurst hosted a paper shredding event every year and is looking forward to meeting area residents again at this event.
“Identity theft and fraud are continually on the rise,” said Rep. Parkhurst. “The paper-shredding event is a convenient opportunity for residents to easily dispose of documents that could put them at risk if not properly discarded. This event will be a drive-thru system and you won’t even need to leave your car. I encourage everyone here in the 79th District to stop by the event and take advantage of this opportunity!”
With questions, contact Rep. Parkhurst’s district office at (815) 523-7779.
