City of Momence City Council Public Works Committee met July 20.

The Public Works Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
Present: Chairman Alderman Metz, also present Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Cook, Temple, Rehmer and Cope.
Discussed the bids for the clarifier, new unit and demo. Low 180,000.00 would be the best bid.
Current unit is from the 1960’s. This is on the agenda to be discussed and voted on. There is no value in the current piece, it’ll be scrapped.
We may be able to pay up front for this, vs financing. With the Covid situation, the sales tax revenue may be affecting the City, yet to be determined.
Water rates need to be discussed; with Covid this was tabled. How do we want to handle? We need to be looking at the future and have a separate industry rate and a residential rate.
