Mayor Steele: Before we move onto the Citizens forum, I’ve got a lot of things I want to say here. First off, with all the protests and other things that have taken place, they ended up on my doorstep. I’m pretty upset that not one member of this council contacted me to see if my family, my home or myself was okay. I think that’s pretty sad out of all of you. Secondly, I asked Rebecca Cope for her resignation today. She got involved with the first protest with Morgan and the whole thing states that our town is racist, our Mayor is racist and our police are racist. If that’s the way she wants to think it’s ok to represent this community then I suggest she get the hell out of here. I really think that if you think that way about this community, then you need to leave.
Alderman Cope: Do you think I said/think all of those things? Did you ask me? I asked you three times today to ask you why you want….
Mayor Steele: I don’t want to hear s**t from you
Alderman Cope: I have the right to talk and I don’t believe any of those things Mayor Steele: have fun
Alderman Cope: I’ll be happy to speak
Mayor Steele: have fun
Alderman Cope: I will
Mayor Steele left meeting
Alderman Metz made motion to adjourn, Alderman Carbonaro seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Meeting adjourned at 8:06 PM
