City of Momence City Council met Oct. 5.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
The Public Works Committee meeting was held in the Council Chambers at 29 North Dixie Highway, Momence.
Present: Chairman Alderman Metz, also present Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Clark, Cook, Cope, Temple and Rehmer. Also, present Mayor Steele.
Discussed water/sewer rates. Alderman Salomone provided a spreadsheet with possible new rates. Discussed a flat rate across the board, residential and commercial. Looking at the middle amount that would show a $27.00 increase with water/sewer combined rate
Once decision is made, a letter will be drawn up for the big industrial users to provide information on rate increases.
This will be added onto the next meeting agenda for a possible vote, pending the outcome of the meeting with Baxter/Woodman.
This must be done; at this current rate structure we would not qualify for a loan.
