They say to dress for the job you want, and Judge Lindsay Parkhurst (R-Kankakee) proved this as she was being swore in t take over as replacement Judge Jackie Haas (R-Bourbonnais), as the new State Representative for the 79th District in Illinois.
Parkhurst has been sworn in just three days earlier as a circuit judge after serving in the House since 2017 after defeating incumbent Katherine Cloonen. Haas was elected to the seat in November, defeating Democrat Charlie Eads, the Daily Journal reported. The 79th District includes Kankakee, Grundy and Will counties.
“I am confident she will continue she will continue to provide independent and community leadership for out district,” Parkhurst said on her Facebook page.

Parkhurst had announced she would not seek reelection and assumed the position of Circuit Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit after running unopposed. Parkhurst state it had been a dream of hers since graduating from law school, and the position of circuit judge was the pinnacle of any legal career WCSJ reported.
