U.S. Representative Robin Kelly posted a series of statements on her social media account between November 15 and November 16, 2025, addressing federal food assistance policy, the ongoing healthcare situation, and an immigration case involving a Chicago daycare teacher.

On November 15, Kelly criticized former President Donald Trump’s actions regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), writing: "First, President Trump slashed SNAP by nearly $200 billion. Now, Trump is holding what’s left hostage—blocking $5B to feed hungry families. America can afford to feed its people. What we can’t afford is Trump’s cruelty."

Later that day, she commented on the state of healthcare following a government reopening: "Even with the government reopening, the healthcare crisis Republicans created has not gone away. Yet again, families are left holding the bag while Republicans avoid taking action. It is clear they cannot govern. I will keep fighting for affordable healthcare."

On November 16, Kelly addressed an immigration case in Chicago: "A federal judge has ordered ICE to release Diana, a beloved daycare teacher in Chicago. The law is on the side of the people. ICE’s detentions and arrests are illegal. A bond hearing will now be held for Diana. This is the first step in righting this terrible wrong."

Robin Kelly has served as U.S. Representative for Illinois's 2nd congressional district since 2013 and has consistently won re-election by wide margins in recent cycles—defeating Thomas Lynch in 2022 with over two-thirds of the vote; Theresa Raborn in 2020; David Merkle in 2018; John Morrow in 2016; and Eric Wallace in 2014.
