U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has served Illinois’ 2nd congressional district since 2013, recently used her social media platform to comment on a range of political and policy issues, including immigration enforcement in Illinois, government funding debates, and healthcare challenges.
On November 13, 2025, Kelly addressed a recent legal development regarding immigration enforcement in Illinois. She wrote: "Judge Cummings’ ruling is clear: Trump’s mass ICE raids in Illinois broke the law.
615 people will be released—but thousands more are still living in fear.
I stand with those demanding justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration system." (posted November 13, 2025)
Later that day, she criticized Republican lawmakers over the passage of a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government. In her post she stated: "The “clean CR” proves Republicans’ focus isn’t on you—it’s on billionaires and January 6th insurrectionists.
Families deserve leaders who will fight to lower healthcare costs, not politicians who want to line their own pockets.
If it was clean, why do we have another vote?" (posted November 13, 2025)
On November 14, Kelly shared her participation in a community event discussing several current issues affecting Chicago and national politics: "Earlier this week, I joined the Harvard Club Chicago for a fireside chat. We talked about the Republican healthcare crisis, the shutdown, ICE’s harmful tactics in Chicago, and more.
I appreciated the chance to share how I’m fighting for our families in DC." (posted November 14, 2025)
Robin Kelly has maintained a strong electoral record over multiple election cycles. In the most recent general election of 2022 she defeated Thomas Lynch with approximately two-thirds of the vote. Previous elections saw similar results against Theresa Raborn in 2020; David Merkle in 2018; John Morrow in 2016; and Eric Wallace in 2014—all by significant margins.
