Catherine Wojnarowski  has been removed from her position as Bradley Village Administrator following the Village Board unanimously voting to terminate her employment at a recent board meeting, according to Illinois Leaks.

Wojnarowski had previously been placed on paid lave since Sept. 10, 2020 pending results of an internal investigation from a domestic battery charge filed against her by her now-former boyfriend, Eric Smith, who resides in Indiana

The police report alleged that on Dec. 7, 2019, Wojnarowski was drunk and scratched Smith’s arm with her fingernails, drawing blood, and also punched him in the mouth when he was driving her home. It also alleged that she tried to get out of the vehicle that was moving at 60 miles per hour. When Smith stopped the vehicle, Wojnarowski grabbed the keys and threw them away. They had to wait for another driver to come and light up the area so they could find the keys.

Smith later filed for protection order against Wojnarowski which was granted by a Porter County Superior Court Judge on Sept. 22, 2020. The order stated that Wojnarowski was to stay at least 100 yards away from the petitioner and prohibited communication of any kind.

The order can be viewed here.

Wojnarowski was officially charged with a Class A Criminal Misdemeanor of Domestic Battery / Physical Contact on Oct. 7, 2020. The charge was filed with the Kankakee County Circuit Court and a Hearing date was scheduled for Nov. 4, 2020.

She was later charged with a Misdemeanor Domestic Battery in Lake County, Indiana on Dec. 14, 2020.

Wojnarowski also drew criticism when it was reported on Sept. 8, 2020 that she texted deragatory gay slurs in reference to the Village Treasurer/Finance Director.

The text messages allegedly happened in April, 2020 and Wojnarowski said, through her attorney, that she didn’t remember sending the messages, but considered the release of her text messages as an invasion of privacy.
