City of Momence City Council met Dec. 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

ROLL CALL

Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple, Rehmer and Cope.

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES

Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the minutes of the, November 16, 2020 council meeting with the corrections. Alderman Cook seconded he motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

APPROVAL OF THE BILLS

The bills were discussed during committee meeting. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.

CITIZENS FORUM – Steve Gross discussed details for the Christmas gathering.

OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Metz - Baxter/Woodman meeting via Zoom to discuss rate study Alderman Salomone – update on the bond refinance, spoke to someone at

IDOT, hoping to have ready for next meeting.

ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the Retirement Resolution #210 and Abatement Ordinance #857. Alderman Cook seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Cook, Temple and Rehmer voting yes.

Tax Levy draft – 20 days between the draft and the vote, will have a vote to pass at the next meeting. The estimation is 415343.64, roughly a 2% increase.

Budget and Finance meeting, December 21 at 7:15PM

Alderman Cope – Ordinance 634 – amendment of the parking on the East side Washington to second on Market Street, sign needs to be moved to show the entire block. Alderman Rehmer to speak to the priest about the parking.

Momence Jayettes – looking for donations for groceries for those suffering in the area, asking City for assistance.

Treasurer report –

Department Heads – Tina - Balancing help coming next week, Baxter/Woodman meeting

Scott – leaf pick will end this week.

MAYORAL REPORT –

Alderman Salomone made motion to adjourn, Alderman Rehmer seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Cook, Temple and Rehmer voting yes.
