No member was not permitted to attend the meeting by video or audio conference.

2. Recognition of Staff, Students and Community

2.01 Recognition of Staff, Students and Community - Thank you to the staff, students and community who supported the annual food drive to support the Salvation Army.

3. Communications from/to:

3.01 BEA - The President of the BEA is very thankful for the support of the PTA and everyone else who provided snacks and meals for the Parent/Teacher Conferences along with organizing the Teacher Wish Lists. A teacher survey has been compiled for feedback and input into the remote vs. online learning environments. Teachers are feeling a wide range of emotions. They understand the benefits of both remote and online education and are dedicated to the students.

3.02 Visitors - There were no communications from/to visitors.

3.03 Board - There were no communications from the Board.

3.04 Administration - Principal Swilley thanked the PTA and everyone who provided meals for the conferences. He spoke on behalf of the Administration, that everyone is grateful for the opportunity to serve others in our community.

3.05 Superintendent

FOIA Request received from Ken Deloian, SmartProcure. The FOIA has been resolved.

Dr. Adam Ehrman thanked the employees and community for working together during this uncertain time. The Timberline Billing Service Agreement and Georgia-Pacific Dispenser Agreement was also reviewed.

5. Mission of Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 is to: Collaborate with staff, students, families, and community

5.01 District Health Insurance Update - Dr. Adam Ehrman, Superintendent presented the findings of the Insurance Committee and the changes that were made in response to those findings.

5.02 Review of Amended Contract Proposal from Aramark - Dr. Adam Ehrman, Superintendent presented the cost breakdown and an overview of the food service request for a proposed contract. He recommended that the district honor the existing contract and to not adopt the proposed contract amendment.

5.03 School Closure to Remote Learning Update - Dr. Adam Ehrman, Superintendent updated the Board on the shift from in person learning to remote learning for various reasons. Both the Upper Grade Center and Liberty will be evaluated to return to in person learning. Rob Rodewald thanked Dr Ehrman and the entire staff for all they have done to navigate the uncharted educational challenges.

6. Mission of Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 is to: Provide a safe learning environment with innovation instructional practices

6.01 Additional Teacher Assistant Position for Destiny Program - Dr. Anitra Crockett, Director of Student Support Services presented an overview of the need for an additional Teacher Assistant Position. The recommendation is to approve the additional staff.

Motion by Kelly Dunnill, second by John Hall to approve hiring the additional Teacher Assistant position as presented. The following voice votes were heard: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. Nays: None. Absent: None. Final Resolution: Motion Carries.

6.02 Resolution: Proposed Tentative Tax Levy - Mr. Dennis Crawford, CSBO presented the proposed tentative tax levy and gave an overview of the tax cycle. The recommendation is to approve the resolution and proceed with the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing.

Motion by Jamie Freedlund, second by John Hall to approve resolution and proceed with the Truth in Taxation Public Hearing. The following voice votes were heard: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. Nays: None. Absent: None. Final Resolution: Motion Carries.

6.03 Resolution: Proposed Supplemental Tax Levy - Mr. Dennis Crawford, CSBO presented the proposed supplemental tax levy and explained this tax levy. The recommendation is to approve the resolution and proceed with the supplemental tax levy.

Motion by Rich McBarnes, second by Jamie Freedlund to approve resolution and proceed with the supplemental tax levy. The following voice votes were heard: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. Nays: None. Absent: None. Final Resolution: Motion Carries.

6.04 Bus Communication Equipment Upgrade - Ms. Jackie Hazzard, Transportation Coordinator presented the overview of the condition and difficulties of the current equipment. The recommendation is to approve the purchase of the new equipment

Motion by Jayne Raef, second by Kelly Dunnill to approve the purchase to upgrade the Bus communication Equipment. The following voice votes were heard: Kelly Dunnill, John Hall, Jamie Freedlund, Rich McBarnes, Jayne Raef, Rob Rodewald. Nays: None. Absent: None. Final Resolution: Motion Carries.

7. Mission of Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 is to: Inspire all students to reach their unique potential as globally conscious learners

7.01 Equity Committee Update - Equity Committee Members. Principal Swilley, Jamie Freedlund and Kelly Dunnill gave an overview of the Equity Committee trainings that many of our employees have attended. The employees have taken the knowledge and implemented school based sub committees. Everyone who spoke was excited about the process and looking forward to the committee recommendations and changes. Rob Rodewald expressed his appreciation to all involved and was impressed with the level of excitement for the process.

7.02 Parent Education Data Report - Dr. James Duggan, Assistant Superintendent presented the challenges in reaching the preschool students prior to their enrollment in our district. There are discussions of starting a state wide data system to enroll children at hospitals, so they can be reached prior to entering the school system.
