U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who serves Illinois's 2nd congressional district, addressed several key issues in a series of tweets posted on July 28 and 29, 2025. Kelly highlighted her positions on climate change, constituent services, and healthcare equity.

On July 28, Kelly criticized former President Donald Trump’s environmental policies, stating: "Climate change is real. Trump wants to gut protections, deny science, and let Big Polluters profit while our communities suffer. I refuse to let that happen. See what I had to say this morning with climate advocates. https://t.co/Vc41VsNmHM"

Later the same day, she informed constituents about the assistance her office provides with federal agencies: " Did you know my office and I can help you with federal agencies like the IRS, Social Security, and the VA? Whether it’s tracking a tax return or expediting a passport, we’re here to help.

On July 29, Kelly emphasized her commitment to healthcare equity as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust: "Healthcare equity is more than policy for me—it’s personal, and it is a human right. As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust, I’m committed to reducing disparities and expanding access to care, especially for the millions of Black women who have been left"

Kelly has consistently secured re-election in Illinois's 2nd congressional district since first winning office in 2013. In recent election cycles she defeated Thomas Lynch in 2022 by a margin of over 34 percentage points; Theresa Raborn in 2020 by nearly 57 points; David Merkle in 2018 by over 62 points; John Morrow in 2016 by almost 60 points; and Eric Wallace in 2014 by more than 57 points.
