City of Momence City Council met Jan. 4

The City Council Meeting of the City of Momence was held via Zoom. Mayor Steele called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
Roll was called by the Clerk with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cook, Temple, Rehmer and Cope.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the minutes of the, December 21, 2020 council meeting with the corrections. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
APPROVAL OF THE BILLS
The bills were discussed during committee meeting. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve the bills for payment. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Rehmer, Cook, Temple and Cope voting yes.
OLD BUSINESS – Alderman Salomone – rate study, waiting on a few more items for Baxter Woodman. Once received, another meeting will be set.
Alderman Metz – thank you to Jake Salomone for all the work on the Baxter Woodman rate study
ALDERMANIC REPORTS – Alderman Carbonaro – 425 Hill Street, complaint about ice on the sidewalk. Resident asking if the city can do anything about the ice. The yard appears to be on a slope, doesn’t appear that the city would be responsibility. The would be the owner’s responsibility.
Alderman Salomone - BF January 18, 7:15 P.M. Students from Olivet from the communication department, interested in assisting the city in a few items. 3 objectives….1. branding, 2. Conduct an assessment of the city’s website, 3. Public relations campaign, relevant events in the city. This would last the length of the semester, no cost to the city. Alderman Salomone made motion to approve, Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Rehmer, Temple and Cope voting yes.
Treasurer report – Trisha will go to City Hall to sign paper work. Also, go to bank to update signature cards.
Department Heads – Chief Brucato – forfeiture asset account needs to be updated with the mayor and Tricia Cavender as the signers. Alderman Salomone made a motion to approve. Alderman Temple seconded the motion with Aldermen Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Cook, Temple and Rehmer voting yes.
Ribbons for Officer Jacobson will be removed this week.
Officer Spears and Kelly have accepted full time positions, both were effective January 1, 2021.
MAYORAL REPORT –
Alderman Cook made motion to adjourn. Alderman Metz seconded the motion with Alderman Salomone, Carbonaro, Metz, Clark, Cope, Cook, Temple and Rehmer voting yes.
