Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees Met May 3.

6:30PM Meeting Called to Order by Pres. Roth/ Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all members present

*Motion to approve minutes from previous 4/19/21 meeting

        Motion: Morgan       2nd: Wiedl        Motion Carried 5-0-1     Coats abstained

6:38PM Motion to adjourn current Board

*Motion Carried 6-0-0 by voice vote

Oath of Office was taken by the following elected officials

Clerk Dillman, 4 year term, sworn in by notary, K. Zizic

Village President Jamie Hawkins, sworn in by Clerk Dillman

Trustee Robin Bruni, sworn in by Clerk Dillman

Trustee William Morgan, sworn in by Clerk Dillman

6:45PM Meeting Called to Order by Pres. Hawkins

Roll Call was taken, all current members present

Public Comments: Bob Roviaro spoke, asking of the plans that Pres has for the future of the Village. Offered a couple suggestions with his comments. No response given

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment: <4/26/21 General Fund $8,530.00, <4/29/21 General Fund $8,167.41, T.I.F. $1,920.40, <4/17/21 Payroll $14,086.14

       Motion: Morgan       2nd: Coats       Motion Carried 6-0-0

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: Offered a copy Certification of Ballots results of the Consolidated Election held within the Village of Grant Park, Kankakee County, Illinois, on the 6th day of April 2021

Streets & Alleys, Veldhuizen: no report

Street & Alley Commissioner, Henson: brush pickup has begun

Finance, Morgan: Gave a ‘2020 end of year financial report

*Pres. Hawkins appoints Valgene Raloff to fill vacant Trustee position

Clerk Dillman gave Oath of Office to Valgene Raloff

Sewer & Garbage, Raloff: reported electronic waste has begun, supported by Belson Steel

Building & Grounds (no trustee named to position at this point) report by Mr. Morgan

Park rentals are improving as of late, Heldt Park had 2 weekends of clean-up/fix-up. Flower baskets should be hung in 1-2 weeks (donated by Sunrise Greenhouse)

Ordinance & Insurance, Wiedl: no report

Law Enforcement, Coats: Ram Truck being outfitted for lights

Chief Frey: appointed James Vela as full time police officer

*Oath of Office was given to Officer Vela by Clerk Dillman

Pres. Hawkins makes the following appointments:

Village Attorney, Spesia & Taylor

Police Chief, Carl Frey

Adjudication Hearing Officer, Brian Hiatt

Adjudication Hearing Secretary, Kerry Zizic

Building Inspector, David Crouse

Village Engineer, Piggush Engineering

Doug Graves has resigned as Village Treasurer, appointment tabled

Pres. Hawkins gave a short talk, thanking the residents in their confidence in electing her to lead the Village, and she takes honor in the position.

No Executive Session held
