6:30PM Meeting called to Order/ Pledge

Roll Call was taken, all present

*Motion to approve minutes from previous 7/19/21 meeting

Motion: Morgan      2nd: Bruni      Motion Carried 5-0-1  Wiedl abstaining

No public comments

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment: <7/30/21 General Fund $10,032.98, Fest $25.00, T.I.F. $8,571.42, <7/24/21 Payroll $14,829.29

Motion: Morgan      2nd: Coats       Motion Carried 6-0-0

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: Clerk Dillman swore in Joseph Hubbard, as Village Treasurer

Streets & Alleys, Coats:

*Motion for rate increase for Sullivan while performing duties of interim road commissioner to $18.50/HR effective 7/5/21

Motion: Coats      2nd: Morgan      Motion Carried 5-1-0      Veldhuizen, no

Also discussed various licenses for duties in the Street & Alley Dept.    Wood chipper purchase has been put on hold,   Traxx Fest, on 8/22, will need barricades for street blockage

Finance, Morgan:

*Motion to purchase a LED sign as listed in specifications for a Village of Grant Park expenditure not to exceed $23,500    Motion: Morgan      2nd: Coats    Motion Carried 5-1-0    Veldhuizen, no

*Motion to purchase ESI-ESIP 50X VOIP system as specified in the Ruder Technologies proposal dated 7/19/21, reserving the right to specify fewer ESI E4X VOIP telephones

Motion: Morgan     2nd: Bruni      Motion Carried   4-1-1   Veldhuizen, no   Coats, abstaining

Mr. Morgan mentioned the Village will receive a grant from the American Resolve Plan, totaling $169,794.32, payable in October

Sewer & Garbage, Veldhuizen:  Apartments have switched to dumpsters, from totters

Building & Grounds, Bruni: Heldt Park is adding another fun, interactive item, an outdoor xylophone, to be donated through the Eagle Scouts

An update on Oktoberfest plans was given, all planning going well, need volunteers to help

Ordinance & Insurance, Raloff:

*Reading of resolution R-8-21-1 ComEd Green Grant ($3000 matching grant)

Motion: Raloff        2nd: Wiedl      Motion Carried 6-0-0

Law Enforcement, Wiedl: Spoke on updating Village website, and Facebook page

Pres. Hawkins:

Discussed “Welcome to Grant Park” new signs

Discussed future Board meeting locations

Discussed possible new position for Village, Communications Manager

Neil Piggush will be at next meeting to discuss plans for Main Street  Streetscape project@ 5:30PM  

Discuss Sewer & Garbage committee name and duties, possible change, adjustment

No Executive session held
