Village of Manteno Planning Commission met Oct. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m.

Roll Call: Present: Todd Creek, Dan McGowan, George Weiland, Jerry Dole, Annette Zimbleman and Francis Smith

Absent: Emily Fisher-Gentry

Attendance: Chris LaRocque, Village Administrator; Trustee Diane Dole; Chairman Smith called the meeting to order.

Pledge of Allegiance – Chairman Smith

MOTION: A motion by Creek, second by McGowan, to waive the reading and approve the meeting minutes of August 10, 2021 as presented with no corrections or deletions. Motion approved 6-0. Gentry absent.

Chairman Smith opened the Public Hearing portion of the meeting.

PC-DEV 21-01 – The public hearing is to consider a request by Jerry Curwick, owner, for an additional one hundred and six (106) square foot deviation to the maximum allowable garage square footage requirement in the R-1 Residential Zoning District for a new construction home located at 1772 Condor Dr.

Mr. LaRocque stated that this type of deviation is rare. The person buying the home asked for a larger garage size for storage. The staff has no problem allowing the exception. There were no questions or comments from the commission or from the public. Chairman Smith noted that all adjourning property owners where notified of this meeting and proposed change.

Chairman Smith closed the public hearing.

NEW BUSINESS:

MOTION: A motion by Dole, seconded by McGowan, to approve Plan Commission Recommendation 21-04, a recommendation approving a deviation from Title 8, Building Regulations, Chapter 1, Residential Garages, Article 8-1-19 (E)2, Maximum Size of Garages, for the property known as 1772 Condor Drive, Manteno, Illinois. Motion approved 6-0. Gentry absent.

MOTION: A motion by McGowan, seconded by Weiland, to adjourn the meeting at 6:11 p.m. Motion approved by voice vote.
