Iroquois County 70th highest taxed Illinois county in 2020

Iroquois County taxpayers paid the 70th highest amount in sales taxes in 2020, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Iroquois County paid $1.1 million in 2020.

Iroquois County was ranked 71st the year before.

Of all the taxes Iroquois County residents paid for, Countywide Sales Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
