Kankakee Times

There were 35 offenders living in Kankakee County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Kankakee Times.

The data shows 33 men and two women were released in Kankakee County. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2021, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2021.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Michael Davenport. He was convicted of homicide in 1986 when he was 19 years old. He is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
