Kankakee native and former Congressman Adam Kinzinger will be at the Erie County Bar Association's annual Law Day Luncheon.

Kinzinger, who joined CNN after leaving the 16th District congressional seat, is the keynote speaker at the Law Day Luncheon on May 9 at the Bayfront Convention Center, ECBA announced on Facebook.

"About Law Day's Keynote Speaker: For Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, service to country has been the guiding principle of his life and career — first as a member of the armed forces, and later as a lawmaker in the halls of Congress," ECBA stated. "When the strength of the nation was tested on January 6th, 2021 and in the months following, Kinzinger took his sworn oath further, boldly demonstrating an exceedingly rare loyalty to country over party.

Never Trumper, Kinzinger was in Congress from 2011 to 2023. He was a tanker pilot in the United State Air Force in the early 2000s and also serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Air National Guard.

“Happy to join the team @CNN!" Kinzinger tweeted in response to CNN’s announcement.

Kinzinger joined CNN earlier this year.

“Join us in welcoming @AdamKinzinger to CNN as a Senior Political Commentator. Welcome to CNN, Adam!" CNN tweeted about Kizinger’s employment with the cable channel.

CNN in recent years has been accused of spinning narratives rather than engaging in straight-up news reporting. The network breathlessly followed the so-called “Russian bot” scandal that was falsely implanted in American media by leftist group Hamilton 68 – which began as a project by counterterrorism expert Clint Watts and the German Marshall Fund.

“CNN should be raging at the source that led them to publish flat-out wrong stories like this. Instead, they’re circling wagons to protect people who burned them. Why would that be?” Matt Taibbi wrote on Twitter.

Taibbi’s Twitter Files revealed Hamilton 68 compiled a list of real Twitter users it falsely labeled as Russian-controlled accounts.

Similarly, journalist Glenn Greenwald slammed CNN for burying the Hunter Biden laptop report.

“CNN executives were famously caught on a recorded conference call informing staffers that the bombshell New York Post reporting from 2020 would be ignored by the network," Fox News wrote of the scandal. "The news they chose not to report shed light on Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings before and after his father, then-Democratic nominee Joe Biden, was in office as vice president. The complete blackout came before a long-planned merger was finalized, putting CNN under the control of Warner Bros. Discovery.”

Greenwald said a “horde” of CNN reporters is no different than Democrat insiders.

"CNN's ‘news story’ on the Taibbi reporting has to be read to be believed. It reads like the rantings of any #Resistance maniac. Any conservative who thinks CNN changed because they fired a couple blatant Dems (while keeping @Acosta) is fooling themselves," Greenwald said in a tweet with a link to CNN’s report.
