City of Watseka Finance, Legal & Audit Committee met May 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

PRESENT: Aldermen Marcier, Barragree, Cahoe, Anderson, Miller, Alderwoman Rohlfs, and Mayor Allhands 

ABSENT: Alderman Muench and Alderwoman Rohlfs 

Alderman Marcier opened the meeting at 6:30 pm. There was no public comment. Alderman Marcier stated the committee has the bid information from phase XIII demolition for the flood mitigation. The next set of homes to be demolished is 231 & 231 ½ W Park Ave, 215 W Locust, 129 W North, and 302 W Park Ave. The only bid received was from Lee Excavating for $64,450.00 Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the bid from Lee Excavating for $64,450 and Alderman Anderson seconded. Roll call carried 7-0. 

Alderman Marcier also reported Steve Cross is requesting TIF 4 reimbursements for 463 W Mulberry for $1730.45 and 226 W Park Ave for $2535.26. Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the Council to pay Steve Cross a TIF 4 reimbursement for 463 W Mulberry in the amount of $1730.45 and 226 W Park in the amount of $2535.26. Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 7-0. 

Alderman Marcier makes a motion to recommend to the council to accept the April Treasurers report and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 7-0. 

Mayor Allhands stated the DNR Flood Mitigation line of credit needs to be renewed for 1 million. Alderman Cahoe makes a motion to recommend to the council to renew the DNR line of credit for 1 million and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 7-0. 

Alderman Marcier makes a motion to adjourn at 6:35 and Alderman Barragree seconded. Roll call carried 7-0.
