Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met April 15.

6:30PM Meeting called to Order / Pledge
Roll Call was taken, all members present.
*Motion to approve minutes from previous 4/01/24 with correction (wording to include under public comments, that a Board meeting is not the venue to question residence of a Board member)

*Motion to approve Bills for payment: <4/11/24 General Fund $12,582.65, M.F.T. $597.92, Am Rescue Plan/SLFRF $3,375.40 Payroll <3/30/24 $18,005.80

Departmental Reports:
Clerk Dillman: Renewals for annual Liquor, gaming, and cigarette licensing for 24/25 year completed.
Questioned if Village can get reimbursed for fees paid for rezoning and other things related to the sale of home at 100 S. Maple.
Mentioned the GP Foundation would like to paint a mural on the back building of the Community Center. Also, would like to revive the 1990 Lioness fountain at the Community Center, asking permission from the Board to proceed with the projects, permission granted. The GP Foundation will cover costs for both projects.
Engineer Piggush: Winning bid of $195,537.59 From KVCC for N. Main St. project. Paid in part from SLFRF Funds
Ordinance & Insurance, Wiedl: no report
Streets & Alleys, Passini: The School has asked to resolve the flooding at the Elementary school parking lot, will schedule a meeting.
Finance, Morgan: Reviewed KC Custom Detail TIF application, and discussed amount to award and length of contract.
*Motion to approve a separate sub account for Police department to deposit funds received as donations or from special events to be used for special expenditures via debit card or check with the usual accounting oversight required by other similar accounts currently in practice within the Village finances

Community Outreach, Detloff: Fest meeting 6PM Monday April 22, Village Hall
Building & Grounds, Bruni: no report
Law Enforcement, Whorrall: Reported 85 calls in March, with breakdown of types.
Chief Frey: asked for ideas for kid’s races for Burn Out day. Pedal cars were suggested to be continued
Pres. Hawkins: asked Board to approve sponsoring a hole at the GP Chamber golf outing, as in the past, approved. May 10th will be academic signing day at GPHS. April 26 is “bring your tractor to school” day, drive carefully.
