Village of Grant Park Board of Trustees met Oct. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

6:30PM Meeting called to Order / Pledge

Roll call was taken, all members present, except Ms. Bruni

“ due to an audio issue with the recording of the last meeting, Pres. Hawkins read the highlights of the minutes to the audience”

*Motion to approve minutes from the previous 10/07/24 meeting

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Detloff Motion Carried 5-0-0

No Public Comments

*Motion to approve Bills for Payment: < 10/17/24 General Fund $14,646.15, Sewer Sale Fund $8,667.00, M.F.T. $572.74 Payroll <10/07/24 $5,958.93, Stipend < 10/09/24 $3,500.00, Payroll <10/12/24 $19,705.95

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Wiedl Motion Carried 5-0-0

Departmental Reports:

Clerk Dillman: Spoke of the Firemen’s Trunk-n-Treat this Sunday 1-4PM

Ordinance & Insurance, Wiedl:

*Motion to waive first reading Ordinance O-10-24-1 to approve TIF contract with Kieth Brack insurance

Motion: Wiedl 2nd: Morgan Motion Carried 5-0-0

*Motion to adopt Ordinance O-10-24-1 to approve TIF contract with Kieth Brack Insurance

Motion: Wiedl 2nd: Morgan Motion Carried 5-0-0

Finance, Morgan: spoke of the recently successful GP Foundation Boo Bingo

*Motion to approve TIF contract for Kieth Brack in the amount not to exceed $5000.00

Motion: Morgan 2nd: Whorrall Motion Carried 5-0-0

Community Outreach, Detloff:

*Motion to approve free Park rentals for the GP Foundation events

Motion: Detloff 2nd: Whorrall Motion Carried 5-0-0

Reviewed plans for the Nov. 11th Veteran’s Day ceremony at the Community Center 11AM

Building & Grounds, Bruni: Pres. Hawkins stated the Village Building Inspector looked in to the leaking at the Village Hall roof, and gave her a report of the findings

Lighting project at the Library has been completed, and is much better

Law Enforcement, Whorrall: Police Department has been gifted an ATV for their police use

Pres. Hawkins: has spoken with the Provost Brothers trying to reverse their minds not to work with the Village, over recent resident complaint they felt they did not deserve. Hopefully was successful. Matt and Christine Wick applied for an application to put a residential section within their commercial building. A copy of a letter mailed to all residents over leaf pick up was read to the audience. No leaves are to be put on the streets. On behalf of the entire Board, Pres. Hawkins thanked the Progress Reporter of Momence for their many years of multiple forms of service to the Board, and residents of the Village of Grant Park.

7:27PM returned to Open session, no motions made
