Bernard H. "Red" LaMontagne | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Bernard H. “Red” LaMontagne, aged 93, of Kankakee, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Citadel of Kankakee. Born on August 2, 1931, in Kankakee County to Henry and Rosalee LaMontagne, he married Velma Ponton in 1953. Red enjoyed a 32-year career as a truck driver for Rudolph Express and had a passion for playing horseshoes, cards, and watching wrestling and westerns. An enthusiastic Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, he relished local history discussions and daily breakfast gatherings.

Survived by sons David, James H. (Sherry), and Gerald LaMontagne, sister Linda Duby, sister-in-law Judith LaMontagne, grandchildren Katelyn (Derek) Beasley and Samuel H. "Sammy" LaMontagne, great-grandson Aaron James Beasley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Velma, daughter Mary, parents, siblings, and brothers-in-law. Visitation on January 11, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, followed by a noon funeral service. Interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in L'Erable. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
