Brenda Sorensen, aged 66, of Sammons Point, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Citadel of Bourbonnais. Born on June 21, 1958, in Kankakee to John Moneymaker and Peggy Smith, Brenda worked as a CNA at Iroquois Memorial Hospital and Prairieview Lutheran Home. She was also a waitress at Peggy’s Diner in Kankakee.

Her hobbies included sewing blankets, playing guitar, singing, and enjoying live music. Brenda adored her dog, "baby," and cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survived by partner Tom Asay, sons Christopher, Michael Watson, Matthew Watson, daughters Melissa, Amy, Julie, sister Patti Moneymaker, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and dog "baby." Preceded in death by parents and granddaughter Caitlyn Meyer.

Visitation on January 10, 2025, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service. Interment at Blooms Grove Cemetery in Rockville Township. Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
