On February 4, 2025, Kelly commented on President Trump's decision regarding tariffs. She stated, "President Trump has caved once again. After trying to burden taxpayers with his reckless tariffs, he has backed down after we boldly pushed back. Tariffs are just import taxes on hard-working Americans. We will not let President Trump continue to rip us off."

The following day, February 5, 2025, she expressed support for a bill recognizing the historical significance of the Freedom Riders in the civil rights movement. She tweeted, "In 1961, the Freedom Riders risked their lives to challenge segregation, laying the foundation for the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
