Background of Subject Matter
On 1/25/24, the Village Board approved comprehensive text amendments to Chapter 80 and 86 of the Village Code pertaining to tree regulations and landscaping requirements. The amendments were drafted by Interim Community Development Director Doug Pollock, with input from Village Forester Jon Yeater. However, the Village Attorney had difficulty placing these amendments into ordinance form due to formatting errors, tracking errors, word usage issues, and related issues.
Additional Background
These issues have been resolved, and these amendments are now being presented to the Board again for re-approval. The only substantive changes to the version approved on 1/25/24 involved the penalty provisions, which have now been revised to comply with legal requirements.
