Robin Kelly, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 2nd district, shared her legislative efforts on Twitter. Kelly, who has been serving in Congress since 2013, used the platform to discuss her recent initiatives related to gun safety laws and healthcare funding for HIV and AIDS.
On April 3, 2025, Kelly highlighted her initiative with Senator Durbin in a tweet: "Laws regulating gun dealers haven’t been updated in over 30 years. I introduced the Federal Firearm Licensee Act with @SenatorDurbin to bring our gun safety laws into the 21st Century. Every gun dealer should ensure they don’t sell guns to people with dangerous intentions."
Following that, Kelly posted another tweet: "@SenatorDurbin Read more about my bill here: https://t.co/UFq50CwERs" on April 3, 2025, directing readers to more information regarding the newly introduced bill.
The next day, on April 4, 2025, Kelly addressed a separate issue of global healthcare funding: "I urge the Appropriations Subcommittee Members to reauthorize PEPFAR, a lifeline for millions with HIV & AIDS globally. In Latin America, I’ve seen the horrific role American tourists play in spreading HIV. We need to do our part in funding PEPFAR to end the HIV & AIDS pandemic."
