Robin Kelly, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 2nd district, has been active on social media with a series of statements. Kelly, who has held her congressional seat since succeeding Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2013, also served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007.
On April 11, 2025, Kelly criticized Republican leadership for instructing their members not to host town hall meetings. She stated, "Republican leadership told their members not to host town hall. That’s not right. I’m hosting a town hall in Pontiac — right on the border of my district and Rep. Darin LaHood’s — so everyone can be heard. See you there."
Later the same day, Kelly marked the anniversary of her public service by reflecting on her career. She posted, "Twelve years ago today, I took my first Oath of Office to serve the Second District. It’s still the best job I’ve ever had. Then and now, I promise to always put my constituents first."
On April 12, 2025, Kelly acknowledged the Jewish holiday of Passover with a message to her district's residents. She expressed, "Chag Pesach Sameach to all celebrating in the Second District. As people across the world gather with their loved ones around the Seder table, may we be inspired by the strength of the Jewish people and their fight for freedom."
