Donald Henry Packard | Clancy Gernon Funeral Homes - Bourbonnais

Donald Packard, aged 97, passed away on April 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and a kind heart. As a proud Navy veteran and dedicated journeyman with Commonwealth Edison, Don embodied service, discipline, reliability, and craftsmanship throughout his life.

Don served honorably in the United States Navy and later dedicated decades to a career with Commonwealth Edison. His professionalism and deep sense of responsibility were admired by all who knew him. Beyond his professional achievements, Don was known for his warmth, generosity, and willingness to help others in need.

Preceded in death by his wives, Lee Packard and Audrey Rodgers Packard, Don is lovingly remembered by his children Donna Montgomery and Charles (Linda) Packard, grandson Jonathon and Jonathon’s wife Julie, and great-grandchildren Addison and Logan. He also leaves behind extended family to whom he was a caring stepfather and friend.

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow immediately at Kankakee Memorial Gardens in Kankakee.

Don's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, as he will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, and quiet courage. Memorial gifts can be sent to the family through the Sympathy Store.
