Robin Kelly, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Illinois’ 2nd district since 2013, has recently commented on legislative developments and federal policy through her official social media account.

On July 17, 2025, Kelly highlighted the introduction of new cryptocurrency legislation: "The bipartisan GENIUS Act provides a first-ever framework for stablecoins. As Congress continues to consider cryptocurrency legislation, I’ll work to keep our laws updated with clear regulation." Later that day, she criticized actions taken by the Trump administration regarding Medicaid data sharing: "This is unacceptable. The Trump admin is handing over sensitive Medicaid data to ICE, jeopardizing everyone’s privacy and safety. Healthcare access must NEVER be a tool for deportation. We must fight for our immigrant neighbors."

Continuing her focus on digital assets, Kelly addressed the size of the stablecoin market and the need for Congressional action in a post on July 18: "With a $238 billion stablecoin market, Congress needs to keep up with cryptocurrency and provide a framework. I look forward to talking with crypto innovators about balancing innovation and consumer protection."

Kelly’s ongoing legislative priorities reflect her broader career in public service. She succeeded Jesse Jackson Jr. as representative of Illinois’ 2nd district in 2013 after serving in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Born in New York City in 1956, she resides in Matteson and holds a degree from Bradley University earned in 1977.
