U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who serves Illinois’ 2nd district, addressed several topics on her official Twitter account on July 27, 2025. In her posts, she raised concerns about federal health policy changes and expressed gratitude to her office interns.
In a tweet posted at 12:33 UTC, Kelly criticized the reported plans of Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., writing: "The unqualified Secretary of HHS RFK Jr. is reportedly planning to dismiss the USPSTF—an independent, volunteer panel of medical experts who guide essential preventive care, including cancer screenings. Undermining science puts Americans’ health at risk. We must not stay silent."
Later that day at 13:49 UTC, Kelly acknowledged the contributions of her summer interns with a message stating: "To my incredible summer interns: thank you! Your work on legislation, constituent support, and research in my DC Office made a real difference. I am grateful to each of you and wish you the best!" She also encouraged new applicants for fall internships in a follow-up tweet at 13:49 UTC: "If this opportunity interests you, apply to become a Fall Intern, today! Applications are open until August 15th at 11:59 PM CST at https://t.co/8s2oA2Ta0N"
Robin Kelly has represented Illinois’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Jesse Jackson Jr. in 2013 and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Born in New York City in 1956 and currently residing in Matteson, Kelly graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor’s degree in 1977.
