U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, who has consistently won re-election by large margins since 2014, posted several updates on her official Twitter account on August 9, 2025. Her posts addressed government transparency regarding the Epstein files, internship opportunities in her office, and gratitude to her summer interns.

In a tweet posted at 19:03 UTC, Kelly questioned former President Trump about the release of the Epstein files, stating: "If the Epstein files are a 'hoax,' as you claim, President Trump… then what’s the holdup? Release them. Let the American people see for themselves. Transparency shouldn’t be a threat—unless there’s something to hide."

Later that day at 21:03 UTC, Kelly encouraged prospective applicants to apply for internships in her office: "If this opportunity interests you, apply to become a Fall Intern, today! Applications are open until August 15th at 11:59 PM CST at https://t.co/8s2oA2Ta0N"

She also expressed appreciation for her outgoing interns in another post at the same time: "To my incredible summer interns: thank you! Your work on constituent support, district events and research in my District Offices made a real difference. I am grateful to each of you and wish you the best."

Robin Kelly has represented Illinois’ 2nd congressional district since winning a special election in 2013. In subsequent elections—including contests against Thomas Lynch (2022), Theresa Raborn (2020), David Merkle (2018), John Morrow (2016), and Eric Wallace (2014)—she has secured decisive victories with vote shares ranging from approximately 67% to over 81%.
